We provide cost effective and different type of care.

At The Knights

Home Is Right Around The Corner

At the Knights is conveniently located right off the 15th Street exit of Route 22, nestled between Allentown, Bethlehem, Salisbury, and Emmaus. Our Lehigh Valley locations are an easy commute to come and visit anytime.

At The Knights, we have an interesting history with the original building serving as a hotel.  This allows us to use the many large rooms for activities and amenities. At The Knights has continued to grow throughout the years to meet the needs of various owners, residents, and the families they served.

Our Accomodations

Both our Personal Care, Independent Living, and Memory Care floors, offer large spacious apartments that include their own private bathrooms with walk in showers, higher raised toilet seats, handlebars, etc.

These apartments can be set up as a private room, or friendship style living quarters. Meal times are spent in our expansive open concept dining room with full service waiters and waitresses with all meals being prepared on-site. Relax in one of our common areas, the library, or our front porch while enjoying some coffee, or tea.

Take your pick of the many activities available in the community, or sign up for some of the trips off-site for even more fun.

A Walk Down Memory Lane

We have a smaller enclosed Memory Care floor specifically designed for those who require dementia or Alzheimer’s specialized care. Memory Lane has its own dining room, activity area, wing of apartments, and a private secured patio with raised garden beds to please all the senses.

Our locked and secured memory care center with coded exits and entrances helps to prevent our residents from getting lost or wandering outside. The smaller floor makes it easier for residents to go where they want to safely, and without feeling overwhelmed.

Life At The Knights

Come make new friends during meals in the spacious dining rooms. Sip on a cup of coffee in the library or dance to some Big Band music with your honey in the lounge. Church services are offered weekly, with several local churches visiting our residents.

Friday afternoons offer an opportunity to share snacks and drinks during “Happy Hour”, although we never limit “happy” to only one “hour”. Many residents enjoy BINGO, card games, or other games, and they enjoy it more when they WIN!

Our wheelchair accessible bus takes residents on local shopping, dining, and casino trips, and more!

Safety

Our residents are assigned a pendant to wear when they move in.  This pendant can be pressed to request assistance from the staff, and is linked to the resident’s room number.

Our bathrooms and shower rooms are equiped with emergency call stations, easily activated by pulling a cord, to summons the staff quickly.

Our locked and secured memory care has coded entrances and exits for the protection of our residents who have dementia or Alzheimer’s.

Our direct care staff (called “PCA’s) carry pagers, which notify them of pendant calls, emergency calls, or wander guard alerts. With this system, all the staff can rapidly respond to calls and emergencies.

If the unexpected happens, our building is equiped with a fire alarm system with pull stations and extinguishers located throughout the home. We also have a building-wide sprinkler system, and full fire suppression system in our kitchens.

All staff are trained about fire prevention and evacuation on their first day, and at least annually afterward. Finally, our building has monthly fire drills, which everyone (staff and residents) is required to participate in.
